I have created a wonderful new group on Facebook for Blue Mountains locals who are interested in improving their health naturally in a supportive and fun environment.
Each week there will be a different theme, with mini-challenges, tips, recipes and inspiration covering all aspects of our health. The intention is to create a space where we can learn and grow together and cheer each other on!
There will be free gifts and exclusive giveaways inside the group. Already there is a 5-day Sugar Detox challenge for members, with a free downloadable success manual and a series of coaching emails to help you quit the sweet stuff!
There is an African saying that I have always loved: "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together". If you are a local and would love to join us for the ride, you can do so here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2194244707548769/
With the holiday season well and truly underway, I wanted to share with you a fun and helpful resource that I have found, and have permission to share with you. It is an e-booklet that you can download - full of recipes, tips and information to help you keep to your health goals during the midst of festive frivolity. It's 32 pages long, so just the right length to be able to flip through when you have a few minutes, and bookmark a handful of recipes or ideas that you'd like to try these holidays. There are lots of great ones that I'll be giving a try!
I hope you enjoy it, and stay healthy and well during this busy period.
Happy holidays to you!
I am always striving to refine and improve my services, so that I can be the best practitioner that I can be. To this end I conduct yearly anonymous surveys, so that I can give my patients the chance to give me honest feedback that I can use to learn and grow.
I am always so grateful for everyone who takes the time to complete the survey and tell me what they think. This year I thought it might be nice to publish the results so that you can see them too.
You can see a quick summary here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/stories/SM-ZWCFP2F7/, or keep reading for a bit more detail and commentary, including how my results compare to other professionals in the health industry worldwide.
Angie Savva WINS Practitioner of the Year at the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) Natural Medicine Awards 2019!
I was absolutely thrilled and incredibly humbled to receive the award of “Practitioner of the Year” at last Saturdays’ Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS) Natural Medicine Awards 2019.
These awards were instigated in 2016 as a way to recognise the outstanding achivements of natural therapists demonstrating excellence in their field, as well as making significant contributions to the natural medicine profession.
ATMS is Australia’s natural leading natural medicine association, who have stated that ‘the calibre and volume of entries was impressive’, which makes me feel incredibly proud and privileged to be the recipient of this prestigious award.
We are having an Open Day at my beautiful clinic, the Quan Yin Healing Centre in Springwood, and you are invited! If you have been interested in my work for some time, but haven't had a chance to meet me yet, this is a great opportunity to do so. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet the other amazing women that I work with, who offer a range of incredible wholistic health services, ranging from remedial & pregnancy massage, to hypnotherapy, bowen therapy, reflexology, kinesiology, and clinical nutrition.
We have pulled out all the stops and there will be amazing goodie bags with free gifts from each of the five practitioners; fantastic lucky door prizes; inspiring mini-workshops; delicious healthy food and drinks, and live music! Please share this with anyone you think might find this event informative and fun, and I do hope to see you there.
I am proud to share the wonderful news that I have finished my year long qualification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I can honestly say it was an amazing year and learned so much that will complement my current practice, and it has also made a huge difference to my own personal levels of health, happiness and wellbeing. For more information about why I chose to add health coaching to my repertoire, see my earlier blog post here.
I am so excited to combine health coaching with acupuncture in a more concrete way, and have lots of wonderful ideas for the future, so watch this space!
My recent win at the 2019 Altitude Awards was covered in our local newspaper!
Please find below a link to an article in the Blue Mountains Gazette that features all the winners of this years awards, including my WIN in the category of "Soaring Micro". It is a lovely feeling to be publicly acknowledged in this way.
Front row: Merylese Merceia, Blue Eco Homes (category sponsor), Fiona Donnelly, Telopea Services (award winner), Lisa Finn-Powell (award winner). Back, Angie Savva (award winner), Dawn Cady, Alleviate Pain (award winner), Michelle Locke, Western Sydney Business Centre (major awards sponsor), Sally-Anne Pisk (finalist)
It was such an incredible thrill to be awarded the Soaring Micro Award earlier this month at the prestigious Altitude Awards. The awards are held annually by the organisation “Women with Altitude”, a group that exists to support, connect and inspire women in business. There were about 300 amazing, inspiring people at the Awards Gala Ball and I was happy to just be there as a finalist – so when Susan Templeman called out my name as the winner in my category, I was temporarily speechless!
If you’ve noticed it’s been a bit quiet here on the website and on Facebook, I have a good reason. Six months ago, I signed up for a year-long health coaching course online with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I’m absolutely loving the course, but it certainly has been keeping me busy during any spare time I have between my practice, the clinic and my two young children! I’m at the half-way point now and I wanted to share with you what I’ve been up to, why I’m doing this course and what it will mean for my offerings in the future.
I am very pleased to announce that on behalf of my clinic, the Quan Yin Healing Centre, I have become a Turn The Tables Partner with the Mama Lana's Community Foundation (MLCF). This partnership will provide ongoing funding for the MLCF to continue providing a range of services to the homeless and underprivileged people in the greater Penrith area.
