Your Integrated Treatment Process: Clarity and Commitment
I believe the best health outcomes require clarity, commitment, and comprehensive care. Here is a clear guide to beginning and sustaining your integrated health journey with me at the Quan Yin Healing Centre.
Step 1: Your Comprehensive Integrated Assessment
Every new client begins with a comprehensive 2-hour assessment to ensure I fully understand your health goals, medical history, and root causes.
Action: Book your Comprehensive Integrated Assessment to begin.
- Consultation: I allow a generous amount of time for a comprehensive health history, including questions about your symptoms, lifestyle, diet, and emotional states.
- TCM Diagnosis: I use specific Chinese medical methods, such as pulse and tongue diagnosis, to gain deep insight into the state of Qi in your body and create an effective diagnosis.
- Integrated Treatment: Your first acupuncture session is included within this time. Once the assessment is complete, you will receive a customised treatment tailored to address your initial and most pressing health concerns.
- Outcome: You leave with a clear diagnosis, your first customised treatment, and a Personalised 3-Month Care Plan outlining the recommended frequency and duration of your care.

Step 2: The Integrated Treatment Session
Your follow up treatments are designed to be a comfortable, powerful step in your care plan, integrating multiple modalities.
- The Treatment: Fine, sterile, single-use needles are gently inserted at precise points. Needles are typically left in place for anything between 20–40 minutes while you relax.
- Comfort: I use the highest quality needles to ensure the most comfortable experience. Most people feel little to nothing, and many describe a feeling of deep relaxation.
- Adjunctive Therapies: Depending on your unique needs, a treatment may also utilise electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, infra-red heat therapy, cupping, and/or guasha to enhance effectiveness.
- Session Length: Integrated follow-up sessions are 80 minutes, ensuring ample time for both your Acupuncture treatment and essential Health Coaching support.
Step 3: Commitment and Long-Term Wellness
Consistency is key to achieving lasting results with Acupuncture and Integrated Health Coaching. True healing takes time and commitment.
- The Trial Package: We recommend starting with a 3-Session Introductory Trial to test your commitment and confirm treatment effectiveness before advancing.
- Consistency: For chronic or long-term problems, a series of treatments close together (at least once or twice a week) is usually necessary to achieve progressive improvements, with frequency gradually decreasing as your health improves.
- Maintenance: Acupuncture can be used as a vital health maintenance treatment, similar to a periodic tune-up, to prevent small problems from becoming major concerns and preserve your gains.
- Your Role in Healing: You are forming a partnership for better health. I provide suggestions and guidance on lifestyle changes, and your commitment to a healthy lifestyle is the best step you can take for your overall wellbeing.
Practical FAQs (Before You Book)
- Do the needles hurt? Usually not. While sensation varies, most people feel little or nothing at all when the needle goes in.
- How safe is acupuncture? Acupuncture is very safe, with an extremely low rate of adverse effects. Needles are sterile and single-use.
- What should I wear? Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be easily rolled up to your elbows and knees.
- What should I do after a session? It is common to feel deeply relaxed. We recommend resting, drinking plenty of water, and avoiding intense exercise immediately after treatment.
- How do I find a qualified acupuncturist? It is extremely important that you only ever receive acupuncture from a practitioner registered with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia (CMBA) (which works with AHPRA).
