My first encounter with Chinese Medicine was over 20 years ago now, before acupuncture was so widely known about and accepted. In a crowded and exotic clinic filled with cubicles and strange smells, I experienced first hand the amazing benefits it had to offer. I knew then that I wanted to learn and share this method of healing with the world.
It has been such a pleasure and a delight to follow this through, to embrace Chinese medicine both personally and professionally, and to see the changes it has made to so many lives through my practice. I am dedicated to my continuing evolution as a natural health practitioner and towards helping as many people as I can claim lives of health, peace and balance.
A committed student, I graduated from from UTS with a Bachelor of Health Science (TCM) with the highest grade average in the class (tied), and an embarrassingly long list of awards (see below). I completed a clinical internship in an integrative Chinese hospital in Beijing; three postgraduate certificates in advanced TCM pediatrics, and a certificate in Infant Massage Instruction. I regularly attend seminars, webinars and workshops on a wide range of topics including gynecology, obstetrics, children's health and mental health.
In addition to my Chinese Medicine training, I am also currently undertaking further studies in Western Herbal Medicine for Women, a 400-hour course run by health pioneer Aviva Romm. Prior to all of this I completed diplomas in aromatherapy, nutrition, reflexology, massage, complementary therapies and reiki, before I spiralled back to my original dream of TCM. I love learning and will never stop.
After graduation from UTS in 2009, I worked in several clinics, including the Acupuncture IVF Support Clinic (now known as the Acupuncture Pregnancy Clinics), various Community Acupuncture clinics, and the Paddington Medical Centre. I also established a free weekly clinic for people diagnosed as HIV+ in conjunction with ACON (AIDS Council of NSW), and ran it single-handedly for over two years, providing thousands of free acupuncture treatments to people in great need.
In 2010 I founded Affordable Acupuncture, a low cost community focused acupuncture clinic in Marrickville, which grew over five years to include a team of five acupuncturists that offered treatments seven days a week. It was a wonderful experience and I loved every minute. I finally closed down this clinic prior to the birth of my second child in 2015.
In 2017 I founded the Quan Yin Healing Centre, a beautiful multidisciplinary clinic in the heart of the Blue Mountains, in my hometown of Springwood. I now practice there three days a week alongside other passionate and inspired health professionals, and aim to provide one of the most nurturing and inspiring healing spaces in the mountains. The Quan Yin Healing Centre was a finalist in the 2018 Altitude Awards, in the "On my way" category for best new business, so I knew I was on the right track!
This year (2019) I entered the Altitude Awards on behalf of my private acupuncture practice, and I was honoured to be a finalist in two categories - "Soaring Micro" and "On My Way". I was awarded the WINNER of the "Soaring Micro" Award at the Awards Ball on 1st of June 2019, which was sponsored by our local MP Susan Templeman. It was a huge thrill!

In October 2019 I was named as one of only four finalists in the whole of Australia for the Australian Traditional Medicine of Society (ATMS) Awards, in the category of Practitioner of the Year. I was incredibly humbled, thrilled and honoured to discover on the awards night that I was the WINNER of Practitioner of the Year!
I am currently an affiliated practitioner with Cancer Wellness Support - a non-profit organisation that supports people living with cancer and their families. Through this organisation I offer discounted and subsidised treatments to their members. In 2019 I also finished a one year certification to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I am so excited about combining life changing health coaching with my healing acupuncture treatments to provide the most oustanding wholistic support to my patients, and have some wonderful ideas about the future - watch this space! |
I have two gorgeous children, for whom acupuncture, herbs, massage and healthy living are a normal part of life. I feel passionately about living and breathing natural health, walking my talk and inspiring others to do the same.
