Healing the Line: An Integrative Guide to Intergenerational Trauma.

14/11/2025

A celestial, cosmic painting of a woman holding a smaller, nested version of herself, representing intergenerational healing and matrilineal connection.
I made the image above completely by accident. I’ve been creating AI art for a while now, and this one emerged from the digital ether—a "happy accident" that took my breath away. To me, it perfectly represents one of the most profound and sacred truths of our existence: our deep, unbroken connection to our ancestors.

It’s a stunning visualization of a biological marvel: I was physically present, as a single cell, inside my grandmother’s womb. And if you are biologically female, the same was true for you, too.

It sounds like a riddle, but it is a scientific fact.

My top 10 calming resources for emotional wellbeing in young children

6/8/2019

Emotional regulation and emotional resilience are key concepts to develop awareness and skills around for children of all ages, starting from the very young. Good mental health is every person’s birthright, however unfortunately in Australia our children are facing something of a crisis. Beyond Blue reports that 1 in 7 school aged children were diagnosed with a mental health condition in 2015, and this doesn’t take into account that mental health conditions are notoriously under-reported and under-diagnosed due to a pervasive social stigma around these conditions.

It’s really important for parents, carers, teachers and anyone with young people in their lives to be proactive about encouraging the development of emotional intelligence, and raising awareness around good mental health practices.

In Chinese medicine, a great deal of importance is placed on dietary habits, digestive health and eating in harmony with our own energetic constitution. Here are some suggestions from the Chinese medicine tradition on how to maintain good digestive and overall health for your children, including tips for the weaning process for babies.

Chinese Medicine First Aid: Part 4 - Herbal Ice

26/3/2014

By Angie

We all know that the standard recommendation for any acute injury - whether it be a sprain, strain, contusion or fracture - is ice. Ice is such an integral part of First Aid that it is hard to imagine that there would be any problems associated with it or any alternative. However, I'd like to share with you a secret known by warrior monks and martial arts masters for centuries - a herbal poultice that works in the same way as ice, but much more effectively and with less chance of damaging the body further.
